The annual Visual Effects Society awards took place on Monday night and Michael Bay was there (of course) along with the entire ILM visual effects team and various Transformers 2 cast members. (including smoking hot Megan Fox!) Michael Bay revealed that he has been working on the Transformers 2 script script himself during the writer’s strike. (which has recently ended) Bay has been working vigilantly in order to assure that the writer’s strike would not effect the projected Transformers 2 Release Date:

“I’ve been writing Transformers 2,” said Bay. “We’ve got our characters all designed. I always write all my scripts, my movies anyway so at least I’ve got something to give the writers. It’s like a template. We have a really good outline so I worked on that.”

So it looks like our Transformers sequel is moving right along! Shooting is expected to begin in early June of this year. The expected Transformers 2 release date is still June 24th, 2009. ILM Visual Effects guru Scott Ferrar also has some exciting TF2 info, dropping quotable gems for us die hard Transformers fans: “beginning animatics … they’re unbelievable.” … “Michael’s added a lot more robots” … “this one is going to [have] a huge production value.”

Well we are just pumped to see that the strike is over! It looks like the sequel machine is now in full effect, we will have more on this in the very near future.

Transformers 2 producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura has announced, in a recent interview with IESB.com that the Transformers Sequel is due to commence shooting on June 2nd, 2008.

IESB: Can you give us a quick update on Transformers 2. Is it still planned to start shooting in July of 08?

LDB: The second, June 2nd.

IESB: June 2nd?

LDB: Yep.

So this is good news to all of those who are concerned that the writer’s strike is going to have a significant negative impact on the Transformers 2 shooting schedule. Lorenzo went on to state that the June 2nd date is only a tentative one, and they will not know exactly where they are at until the writers return. So we are not out of the woods yet. Stay tuned!

Well, it seems we will have to settle for the fan-made variety for now. I was sent a copy of these “Transformers 2 teaser posters” this afternoon from an anonymous fan and I figured I would share them with you folks. They are pretty simple, just a bit of clever photoshopping, but I’ve got to admit that these did get my blood boiling a bit. I would imagine when the actual Transformers sequel posters do arrive, they will be a bit more imaginative than this. Not to knock this fan contribution in any way. Good work dood! Well it appears that Michael Bay’s Transformers 2 may be pushed back from the reported June 26, 2009 release date. The Hollywood Reporter is not reporting that the release date for Transformers 2 has been downgraded to “as-yet-unslotted”. Understandably, fans are in a white-knuckled panic over fears the the Transformers sequel may be pushed back into 2010. Michael Bay has yet to officially respond to the Hollywood Reporter piece, but Bay has been know to candidly broadcast his thoughts, via his official site. Speculation regarding the effect of the Writer’s Strike on the production of Transformers 2 has obviously increased.

What a tease!

Worried about the writers’ strike affecting production on the Transformers sequel?

Last week reports that Roberto Orci, one of the three screenwriters charged with the task of creating the screenplay for Transformers 2, claimed the Writers Guild of America strike would negatively effect Transformers 2 production..

However, “nelson,” the administrator of Transformers director, Michael Bay’s website, Shoot For The Edit has responded to Mr. Orci’s comments”

“BTW, Bay just indicated to me that Transformers is still on schedule,” he writes. “The movie is still in heavy prep and ‘WILL be released June 24th, 2009.’”

So it looks like, at least from Michael Bay’s perspective, Transformers 2 is still on schedule. No need to panic just yet kids, our Transformers sequal is doing just fine. (Or so they say…)

Apparently, Michael Bay is taking action to combat the early leakage of vital Transformers 2 inside information. After the leaked production photos and concept work for the first transformers movie, Bay has decided to take a proactive stance in regards to the sequel, set to be released in June 2009. Here’s the scoop from the man himself:

“One thing I do know is I know how to screw them up more… We’re going to leak a lot of false information all over the place. I now know their game. They’re going to get a lot of script treatments that they think are going to be the script. They will never see the script. We’ve got scripts and treatments written up that we’re going to leak. No one’s going to know. There’s one out that’s fake right now. There are going to be many others.”

So what does this mean? Well, it means the Transformer 2 treatment you bought off ebay is probably a phony. I reccomend you stick close to TransformersTwo.net for all the real Transformers Sequal news. Our message to Michael Bay: Bring it!
