Michael Bay and ILM talk Transformers 2

Transformers 2 Director Michael Bay

The annual Visual Effects Society awards took place on Monday night and Michael Bay was there (of course) along with the entire ILM visual effects team and various Transformers 2 cast members. (including smoking hot Megan Fox!) Michael Bay revealed that he has been working on the Transformers 2 script script himself during the writer’s strike. (which has recently ended) Bay has been working vigilantly in order to assure that the writer’s strike would not effect the projected Transformers 2 Release Date:

I’ve been writing Transformers 2,” said Bay. “We’ve got our characters all designed. I always write all my scripts, my movies anyway so at least I’ve got something to give the writers. It’s like a template. We have a really good outline so I worked on that.”

So it looks like our Transformers sequel is moving right along! Shooting is expected to begin in early June of this year. The expected Transformers 2 release date is still June 24th, 2009. ILM Visual Effects guru Scott Ferrar also has some exciting TF2 info, dropping quotable gems for us die hard Transformers fans: “beginning animatics … they’re unbelievable.”“Michael’s added a lot more robots”“this one is going to [have] a huge production value.”

Well we are just pumped to see that the strike is over! It looks like the sequel machine is now in full effect, we will have more on this in the very near future.

hey, this is so cool. I don’t even know michael bay until i saw the movie. After the movie, i thought he is the best director ever. I don’t even see transformers cartoons, because they are very and badly designed robots. But in the movie, man, i don’t know what to say, man, i am so crazy about transformers now. I read some article, where some people give bad comments about bay.Well, they are idiots who can’t even direct a cartoon show. I love complicated techniques like how the robots transform, i hope the next movie full of action with lots of robots and a big movie like “Lord of the rings”. And Visual effects of course must be earth blowing.

And i hope that they at least release the pictures of the robots quickly. Because i can’t wait to see the movie as it in june 2009.

@ Gotham, I hate people like you, little fanboys that only like Transformers the movie because it’s all high tech. Without the G1 Cartoons you wouldn’t even HAVE this movie.
The G1 Cartoons are the BEST and I love them and have all the box sets on DVD. If you don’t like the cartoons then you’re a hypocrite for liking the movie.
And no they’re not going to “release pictures of the robots quickly” why would they do that and spoil seeing them for the first time on the big screen?

mason where did u get this source? and to add on strickens comment, dude the reason why they made this movie was based on the G1 characters, yes you are right, but don’t step on people for what they did or didn’t know. I’m glad this movie had so much success, and i hope more good comes from it. I even got my gf to watch this movie and she hates sci-fi/ action movies and she loved it! idk but The first one was amazing, they did a great job, but we all knew this movie was made to build up to a second or a third…
